Award for the best talk on seabird tracking!

Sofia Bolumar Roda has been awarded with a price for the best talk on seabird tracking at the "Seabird Group Conference" held in Coimbra, Portugal. Sofia's research coupled oceanic variables with the foraging movements of the European Storm Petrel.

A GEDAi member within the Short Listed most influencial authors!

Congratulations to Ana Sanz-Aguilar from the GEDAi,  short-listed among the ten most influencial authors in the 'Natural Resouces' area in the Balearic region during the period 2017-2019.

Award! "J Benedí" fellowship to A. Sola Galindo

A. Sola Galindo was awarded (here) with a "Javier Benedí" fellowship by the IMEDEA within the "JAE Intro ICUs” program of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC). Alfonso will (re)-join the GEDA for three months. His work, supervised by A. Sanz-Aguilar, will deal with seabird movements in relation to oceanic variables. The research will be highly interdisciplinary with collaborations with other three groups of the IMEDEA.

GEDA at IXth INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE of the EUROPEAN MOSQUITO CONTROL ASSOCIATION

A. Rotger from the GEDA co-authored a work on small-scale presence and habitat selection of the mosquito Aedes mariae on the south of Mallorca Island. The work was presented as a poster at the IXth International Conference of the European Mosquito Control Association in La Rochelle. and awarded as  the best poster of the conference. 

Well done to the authros : Bengoa,M., Barceló, C., Rotger, A. and Lúzon, R.

GEDA at the 14th International Seabird Group Conference

A. Sanz-Aguilar and A. Payo Payo presented their work this week at the 14th International Seabird Group Conference held in Liverpool (schedule here). The talk by A Sanz-Aguilar was an invited plenary and the one by A. Payo Payo on the effect of PAFS on synchrony has been awarded with the third prize for the best talked presented. Congratulation Ana(s)!

Award by the Spanish Society of Evolutionary Biology !

The work on the evolutionary demography of the Belearic Wall lizard by A. Rotger presented at the VI Congress of the Spanish Society of Evolutionary Biology was awarded with the 2nd prize for the best scientific poster.
